Achievements: Spring 2016 University Honor Students and Graduates

Students from the Inland Northwest have earned academic honors nationwide for the spring 2016 semesters. Grade-point averages (GPA) are calculated on a 4.0 scale, unless otherwise noted.

  • Veradale resident Paige Dolsby earned a 3.5 GPA or more for the semester and was named to the dean’s list at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
  • Luke Petersen has been named to the dean’s list, and received semester honors for achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or more, at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Petersen graduated from the university this spring with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Temple University’s College of Public Health in Philadelphia has named Kylie McLaughlin to the dean’s list. McLaughlin earned a GPA of 3.73 or more for the semester to be named to the dean’s list.
  • Kathryn Combo, of Spokane, has been named to the dean’s list at the Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts in Macon, Georgia.

  • The University of Memphis in Tennessee has named Corinna Rankin, of Colbert, to the dean’s list after she earned a GPA of 3.5 or more for the semester.

Students from the Inland Northwest who earned degrees from universities nationwide this spring are listed by their hometowns.

Whitman College in Walla Walla has announced its 2016 graduates earning Bachelor of Arts degrees.

Cheney: Lucas Barry, music – performance; Caitlin Foster, history.

Colville: Alison Price, politics.

Mead: Emily Grossmann, psychology.

Medical Lake: Olivia Hagel, politics.

Moses Lake: Benjamin Shoemake, gender studies.

Pullman: Ledaman Zakarison, religion.

Spokane: Emily Jones, art; Alyssa Maine, economics; Rebecca Mellema, biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology; Flora Sheppard, philosophy and psychology; Andrew Wildman, chemistry.

Area students have earned degrees from Oregon State University in Corvallis.

Colbert: Kellen Clute, bachelor of science, digital communication arts.

Colton: Holdan Druffel, bachelor of science, agricultural business management.

Moses Lake: Robert Mohrbacher, doctor of education; Juan Solis, bachelor of science, computer science.

Pullman: Wen Chu, master of science, mathematics; Rebecca E. Kloster, master of science, civil engineering.

Spokane: Tygh Gianella, master of science, civil engineering; Tiffany Kwong, bachelor of science, management; Courtney Madsen, Master of Counseling; Kendra Sherman, bachelor of science, exercise and sport science; Conner Slater, bachelor of science, manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering; Cydney Steen, bachelor of science, environmental sciences.

Spokane Valley: Joseph Brooks III, bachelor of science, forest management; Stephen Lucas, bachelor of science, mechanical engineering.
