FBI: Spokane resident threatened Seattle, Tacoma gay bars

The FBI is investigating a Spokane resident who allegedly posted online threats about gay bars in Seattle and Tacoma, but does not believe the threats are credible.

The person who made the threats has been interviewed but not arrested, FBI Special Agent Christian Parker said. No threats have been made against LGBT businesses or groups in Spokane, he said.

The threats come just days after a gunman killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando.

In a news release, the FBI said it has looked into two other threats in Washington since the shooting, including a phone call threatening the Muslim Association of Puget Sound in Redmond. Seattle police arrested a 37-year-old Seattle man Tuesday night after he allegedly threatened a mosque in North Seattle and posted online about having an assault rifle and extra ammunition.

The FBI does not believe there is a pending threat to any Washington residents, the release said.
