Education

Roberta Brooke, MiM, has been named the director of graduate studies at Eastern Washington University. She has led the Office of Graduate Studies on an interim basis since last fall. Brooke has also directed the MBA program at EWU Spokane for 10 years.

Finance

Jeff Verble and Kent Schultz have joined BECU as senior relationship managers for commercial banking for the Spokane branches.

Health care

Chaylee Piger has joined the Center of Occupational Health & Education Community of Eastern Washington as a health services coordinator. Before joining COHE, Piger specialized in patient care coordination.

Keith Mackenzie, MD, PS, and Mark Varga, MD, both of Rehabilitation Associates, recently joined St. Luke’s Physiatry Practice. Mackenzie has practiced rehabilitation in Spokane for 37 years, and Varga has been an admitting physician at St. Luke’s for 17 years.

Law

C. Matthew Andersen, Kevin J. Curtis and Carl E. Hueber, principals with Winston & Cashatt, have been recognized as 2016 Washington State Super Lawyers by Super Lawyers magazine. The magazine lists attorneys based on peer recognition and professional accomplishment.

Super Lawyers magazine has recognized five attorneys with Lee & Hayes, PLLC. Partners Geana Van Dessel and Leslie Weatherhead, who passed away earlier this year, were named 2016 Washington State Super Lawyers, and partner Dan Wadkins and attorneys Rhett Barney and John Nelson were named Rising Stars.

Miscellaneous

Toe Tubs and More, an organic nail salon, has opened at 23801 E. Appleway Ave., Suite 140, Liberty Lake. Wednesday. Owner Janet Claar offers manicures and pedicures using organic and natural products. The salon will hold an open house 3-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Nonprofit

Kootenai Health Foundation has added Chad Murray as a board member. Murray, the CEO and president of Helbling Benefits Consulting, will serve a three-year term.

Retail

The Hidden Joint, a retail store that offers marijuana edibles, flowers and accessories, has opened at 6620 N. Market St. The store will hold a grand opening June 30.
