Gonzaga’s Ciera Min wins U.S. Women’s Amateur qualifying tournament

Gonzaga’s Ciera Min recently won a U.S. Women’s Amateur qualifying tournament which earns here a bid to the presitigous even in August.

Min won by three strokes Tuesday at the tournament at the OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore. She fired a five-under 67 to win the event.

With the victory, Min, who is a rising senior, earned a spot in the U.S. Women’s Amateur which will be held Aug. 1-7 at Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Penn.

Min, of Hilo, Hawaii, is the second Bulldog to compete in the event after Dania Uy played two rounds in the same tournament in 2015.

Min’s win follows a similar win at the West Coast Conference Championships, which was her first tournament victory in college golf.
