Suspicious package investigated at Fairchild Air Force Base

A suspicious package was found at Fairchild Air Force Base Thursday night, according to base officials. An investigation revealed nothing hazardous.

The package, which was a piece of trunk-style luggage, was found at the Spokane city bus stop at the base visitors center. The package was investigated by base officials with the assistance of Washington State Patrol.

The area was cleared at roughly 1 a.m. Friday. The investigation is ongoing.
