County Clerk Jim Brannon, who has been visiting the precincts today, tells Huckleberries Online that we’re experiencing a strong turnout — and that a lot of new people have registered as Republicans. “The people are engaged,” says Clerk Brannon. He hopes to have the first ballots counted by 8:45 & the tabulation finished by 11-11:30. I’ll be back at 8:45-9 to begin evening coverage of the election.
