Obituary: Hawkins, Larry Neil

HAWKINS,
Larry Neil
(Age 77)

Larry was born in Spokane to Donald C. Hawkins and Helen C. (Neist) Hawkins November 9, 1938.

He graduated from North Central High School in 1957.

Larry worked for the Spokane Daily Chronicle/ The Spokesman-Review for 42 years, spending most of that time in the pre-press/ composing room.

Larry served in the Coast Guard at the Neah Bay Coast Guard Station and two years as a Reservist.

He enjoyed working on cars, seeing the underlying beauty in those cast-off and neglected hulks he found in backyards, farm barns and behind fences.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Kathryn; daughter Kimberly (Matthew) Howes; brother Ronald (Roberta) Hawkins and two grandchildren Adam and Lauren Howes.

Our thanks to Pine Ridge Alzheimer Special Care Center and Horizon Hospice.

A private family service will be held at Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery.
