Clergy should push back

Here in Washington transgender people can use any bathroom they wish. How does this affect religious rights?

A few Christian universities have received exemptions from some Title IX dictates and rules such as this. Two of these are The Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio and Marquette University. Others have applied. Under the First Amendment, one has to wonder why an exemption is even required.

In light of President Obama’s and this state’s aggressive moves to further gay and transgender rights, what might this ruling mean for all Christian institutions, individual Christians and those who operate businesses? Does a transgender person now have a right to use a bathroom, locker room or shower in churches and schools? Also, what do Jews and Muslims say about this legislation and how it might affect them?

I hope that clergy at all levels and in all denominations and public officials fight this nonsense.
