GREENSBORO, North Carolina – Whitworth’s Wes Walton completed his Pirates career Saturday with a 13th-place finish in the men’s 200-yard backstroke during the final day of competition at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
Walton posted a final time of 1 minute, 48.92 to take fifth place in the consolation final, which counts as 13th place overall.
The Pirates scored 29 points at the event to place 32nd out of 57 teams. Denison (Ohio) won with 455.4 points.
Emory (Georgia) won the women’s title with 560 points.
