RESTOUT, Jacques V.
(Age 88)

Died February 20, 2016 at home in Laguna Woods, CA.

Born August 13, 1927 in Paris, France to Eugenie and Victor Restout who predeceased him.
Jacques married Dottie Lou DeMers in 1982, Dottie passed in 1995.

He is survived by Dottie’s children: Terri Wells (Dave) Spokane, WA; Chris Miller (Brian) Rathdrum, ID; and Rick Dunham, Phoenix, AZ; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by niece Lena Harting (Jim) Sandpoint, ID; nephew Dan Smith, Sandpoint, ID; greatniece Dani Carrico (Tony), their children: Mia and Allison of Coeur d’Alene, ID; and his beloved wife, Elaine, and her family whom he loved as his own.

Survivors also include his sister-in-law Kathy Hughes (Winn); nephews Terry Hughes (Sandy); Tim Hughes (Lisa) all of Cedar Rapids, IA; and Tom Hughes (Cindy) of O’Fallon, MO, and their children and grandchildren.
Jacques was a highly skilled, self taught machinist who managed machine shops and plants in the lumber industry.

He worked for Pack River in Sandpoint, DAW in Coeur d’Alene, ID and Long Lake Lumber in Spokane, WA.
After retirement, he operated his own machine shop, R’s Machine, in Hayden Lake, ID for fourteen years.

Jacques was know as “no slack Jack”, by those in the industry for his precision.
Jacques was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Laguna Woods, CA and a member of the Democratic Club.

In earlier years, he served as a Deputy with Bonner County Snowmobile Search and Rescue Team.
Jacques was a man of integrity and honesty; faith, his joy in life and loving nature, defined him.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
