Obituary: Christensen, Edwin J.

CHRISTENSEN, Edwin J.

Edwin J. Christensen died on March 5th with his family at his bedside after a brief but valiant fight against cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Barb, of 37 years and six children: Shelly, Ed Jr., Gloria, Cherie, Nancy and Deborah, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by three sisters: Karen, Rose and Joy.

Ed was preceded in death by his son, Scott in 2005 from Muscular dystrophy.

For the last 10 years, Ed was “Papa” to his grandchildren Margie and Jaymisen, who are being raised by their grandparents.

Ed was a quiet, gentle man; true and loyal to anyone lucky enough to be his friend.

He never hesitated to help anyone in need, having love for his family, friends, all critters and beer.

Ed was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving in the US Navy.

Because of the humble man he was, Ed never expected any accolades or recognition for his brave service to this country.

Ed loved life, lived it to the fullest, and his motto was “It’s all about the fun!”

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or Disabled American Veterans.
