Women’s golf: Gonzaga places eighth; Idaho 10th
KANEOHE, Hawaii – Dania Uy turned in her best effort of the year – earning her second career top 20 finish – to help the Gonzaga Bulldogs place eighth on Wednesday at the 16-team Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course.
Uy carded a 6-over-par 222 to tie for 18th place.
The Idaho Vandals finished in 10th place with a total of 912 strokes.
Sophie Hausmann led the way for the Vandals with a 224, tying her for 24th place.
Bianca Pagdanganan and Ciera Min each shot 224 to tie for 24th place for Gonzaga, which had a 906 total.
Oklahoma State won a tiebreaker with Texas A&M for the team title. Texas A&M’s Thanya Pattamakijsak was the medalist with an 8-under 208.
Gonzaga finished with a 903 total, three strokes behind seventh-place Hawaii.
Pagdanganan turned in the best final round for the Bulldogs with a 1-under 71.
