Trump hasn’t repented

This is in response to Carolee Bacon’s response to Steve Massey’s column on Donald Trump. Steve mentioned the only reason he wrote the column was because Trump touted his Christianity. Trump has mentioned that he is a Christian, but his actions and words do not match that of a Christian. When asked the question if he had ever asked for forgiveness, his response was “I’m not sure that I have,” or “I don’t think so.”

We have all sinned “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). We will continue to sin because it is our sinful nature. When we do sin, we are to repent and ask forgiveness.

All the names she mentioned in the Bible had sinned, but they repented and asked God for His forgiveness and devoted their lives to God. To become a Christian, we are to repent and ask for forgiveness of our sins, and ask Jesus Christ into our lives (John 14:6).

Unless Donald Trump truly repents, asks for forgiveness and changes his way, it will be hard for any Christian to vote for him and they will write in a candidate instead.
