Idaho jobless rate remains at 3.9 percent in February
Idaho’s unemployment rate was 3.9 percent in February, remaining unchanged for the third month in a row.
In North Idaho, Kootenai County’s unemployment rate was 5.1 percent in February. The rates for other Panhandle counties were: Bonner, 6.2 percent; Boundary, 5.9 percent; Benewah, 6.5 percent; and Shoshone, 7.8 percent.
The state’s labor force participation rate - the percentage of people 16 and older who are working or looking for work - remained at 64.1 percent, also for the third consecutive month.
Over the past 12 months, jobs were added in the state’s leisure and hospitality sector, transportation, utilities and warehousing, construction and other services. Mining and logging jobs declined.
