Man accused of sending explicit images, texts to 10-year-old

A man was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of sending sexually explicit photos and text messages to a 10-year-old girl.

Donald T. Mead, 41, was arrested after the victim’s mother found images and text messages on her daughter’s tablet in January, according to court records. Police responded and took the tablet in question as evidence. Investigators suspect that Mead sent the girl explicit photos and received photos from the victim. Starting March 9 Spokane Police started messaging posing as the victim.

Eventually, they arranged to meet near the Chuck E. Cheese on Sprague Avenue at which time Mead was arrested and booked into jail, court records say.

Mead is charged with attempted third-degree rape of a child, possession of depiction of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. He is being held in Spokane County Jail on a $12,500 bond.
