Feedback: Memories of Patty Duke

Many of our Facebook friends expressed condolences and memories when they heard of the death of Oscar-winning actress Patty Duke. The actress, whose real name was Anna Pearce, moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1990 and was active in local theater and an advocate for mental illness awareness. Here are some of the posts:

I remember when she joined Costco at the old downtown one in Spokane. I was working membership. Nice lady.

Met her at a softball game at Four Fields; we were the only two people sitting up in the stands. She was a wonderful lady. She will be missed.

I went to this play at Interplayers where she spoke to the audience. She had many challenges in life, but seemed to have risen above them. RIP Anna Pearce

I’ve met her on a couple of occasions and she always had a smile. My condolences to her family at this very sad time.
