Voters should remove lawmakers

The Spokesman-Review’s March 23 editorial reminded me just how fortunate I am to live close to Idaho, in Washington, to be able to take advantage of that state’s great outdoor and recreational opportunities without living in Idaho.

Idaho lawmakers’ primary pastime appears to be wasting state taxpayers’ money by attacking constitutionally resolved issues, such as the separation of church and state, religious freedom, gay rights, the “ag-gag law,” and attempts to convert federal lands to state ownership when those lands were never in Idaho state ownership. That is a long list.

They spend millions of dollars trying to defend their unconstitutional laws. Idaho voters will hopefully realize that the only way to change these extremely wasteful activities is to have these politicians removed from office on the basis of betrayal of the public trust. Part of the public trust includes not wasting taxes paid by state residents.
