Oregon (20-17, 9-9 Pac-12) scored six runs in the eighth inning to overcome Washington State (14-25, 7-14) and win the rubber game of the three-game set 11-2 in Corvallis, Oregon, on Sunday.
Scott Sunitsch (3-1) took the loss in relief, giving up seven runs in four innings. Jack Strunc had two hits and Dugan Shirer two RBIs for the Cougars.
Washington 7, California 4: Troy Rallings pitched 3 2/3 innings, the most among four Huskies pitchers and his longest outing of the year, and picked up his conference-leading 14th save as Washington (25-15, 11-7) beat the Golden Bears (24-16, 10-11) in Berkeley, California. Joe Morgan had three hits for UW.
Whitworth 6, Puget Sound 5: T.J. Orchard (8-1) pitched seven innings and the Pirates (29-11) broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run fourth inning before holding off the Loggers (16-24) in a nonconference game in Spokane.
The Pirates, regular-season champions in the Northwest Conference but runners-up in the conference tournament, now wait until May 25 to see if the will get an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament.
Zach Thibault hit a three-run homer and Jeremy Druffel a two-run shot for Whitworth. JT Phelan finished with two hits and Kelly Fitzpatrick threw two scoreless innings for his fifth save.
