Cruz rally in Spokane likely scrapped as he drops out
Republican Ted Cruz dropped out of the presidential race Tuesday evening, saying there’s no “viable path to victory.”
He suspended his campaign, meaning a rally scheduled Wednesday afternoon for the Spokane Convention Center, likely won’t happen. Calls to campaign officials to confirm the cancellation weren’t immediately returned but in his speech Cruz said he did not have a path forward.
GOP officials announced Tuesday John Kasich will address the state convention in Pasco on May 19, and a campaign spokesman said the Ohio governor is expected to campaign in the state Monday.
Donald Trump may make campaign stops in Washington over the weekend.
