One man dead in Grant County shooting

Grant County detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man at a home southeast of Ephrata.

A woman who lives at the home called 911 around 11 p.m. Monday, saying she had heard a loud noise inside the house, a news release from the Grant County sheriff said. When she went to check, she found a man on the floor in the living room. The man had sustained a gunshot wound and was declared dead at the scene. The home is in the 8700 block of Neppel Road Northeast.

Detectives are interviewing the woman and her adult son, who also lives in the home.

The body is in the care of Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison, whose staff will identify the man, notify family and conduct an autopsy.

More information will be released later Tuesday, the release said.
