Free workshops will focus on how to protect homes from wildfires
A two-day workshop on how to protect homes from wildfires will be held this month in Spokane.
The free sessions will offer ideas on adapting to life in a wildfire zone and on working with neighbors to build a collective plan to prevent fire losses.
They will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on May 17 and 18 at 1610 S. Technology Blvd. in the training facility of Enduris Washington, an insurance pool service.
The Enduris office is located southeast of the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Flint Road. Lunch will be provided both days.
Registration is requested through WSU Extension coordinator Steven McConnell at (509) 477-2175 or at steven.mcconnell@wsu.edu.
The sessions are being put on by the Washington state Department of Natural Resources, Spokane County Conservation District and Washington State University Extension.
