Sgt Moore Wild Card — 5.5.16

It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since the awful news re: the fatal shooting of Coeur d’Alene PD Sgt Greg Moore shocked this community. Yet, it’s a tribute to the officer and the community that he’s remembered so fondly and intensely a year after his death. There are 2 commemorations today that you should consider attending — the 3 o’clock commemoration at Cherry Hill and a 5:45 p.m. observance involving a balloon release at Independence Point. Photojournalist Kathy Plonka will be there to photograph both for the SR and Huckleberries Online. As you remember and celebrate Sgt Moore, you should join me in thanking Sheriff Ben Wolfinger, the police chiefs in this county, and their departments for serving us so well year round.
