MASSEY, T. Teresa Deen

May 12, 1950 - May 1, 2016

Peacefully and with sweet relief, T. Teresa Deen Massey passed from this world surrounded by loved ones after complications from heart surgery.

Teresa resided in McMinnville with her beloved husband of over thirty years, David; and their son Christopher who blessed her immeasurably with his love, laugh, and his creative handiwork.

Teresa was born in Quantico, VA on May 12, 1950 as the second oldest of her much loved and surviving four sisters, Gloria Cardwell, Barbara Wilson, Donna Deen, and Beckie Roy, as well as a brother, Jeff Deen.

She deeply treasured all of her nieces and nephews as well as all her in-laws.
After graduating from Stetson University and receiving her Masters Degree from University of South Florida, she taught in Community Colleges in Atlanta, Upstate New York, and Spokane, WA.

For the last fifteen years, she was the insightful and respected Instructor of Reading and Study Skills Consultant at Chemeketa Community College where she took pride in watching her students find their voices and skills for personal success.

This true Southern lady, with her soft drawl and formidable spirit, will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service in her honor will be held Saturday, May 8th at 2 PM at Covenant Church of McMinnville.

2155 NW 2nd St. McMinnville OR.

Arrangements under the direction of Macy and Son Funeral Directors.
