Assumption turns tragic

In response to “Spokane Valley woman charged with hate crime after alleged attack on gay roommate (May 9)”: Something that really bothers me is when people assume that because someone is gay, they are attracted to everyone of the same gender. Just as straight people aren’t attracted to everyone of the opposite gender, gay people aren’t attracted to every person of the same gender as them.

No one should assume another person is in love with someone for any reason. This whole situation could’ve been handled much better.
