Pot shop thieves in Butte steal $12,000 in marijuana plants

Associated Press

BUTTE – Law enforcement officers say two male suspects cut a hole in the roof of a building housing a medical marijuana dispensary and stole about $12,000 worth of marijuana plants.

Butte-Silver Bow officers say video surveillance shows the two used a ladder to climb onto the roof of Evergreen Medical at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Police dispatch logged alarms at the business at 2:24 a.m. and again at 3:56 a.m. Undersheriff George Skuletich told the Montana Standard that responding officers found the building dark and the doors locked. The owners did not respond to the alarms.

The surveillance video showed the suspects descending the ladder at 4:07 a.m. with a backpack and a large garbage bag.

Officers found two saw blades on the roof.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Butte-Silver Bow law enforcement.
