Two new magistrate judges named in North Idaho

Mayli Walsh, an attorney with the Kootenai County Public Defender’s office, has been named a magistrate judge for the 1st Judicial District.

Walsh will fill a vacancy in Kootenai County created by Judge Scott Wayman’s appointment to Shoshone County District Judge.

In addition, Boise attorney Barbara Duggan has been appointed to fill a magistrate judge vacancy in Shoshone County. Duggan, a deputy prosecutor in Ada County, replaces Judge Daniel McGee, who retired.

The Magistrate Commission of the First Judicial District interviewed candidates for both positions Friday and announced the appointments Monday.
