Sorensen for legislature

Laurene Sorensen is running for Legislative Seat 5B to serve Latah and Benewah Counties. She offers a breath of fresh air in Idaho politics. Laurene is smart and well-informed. She can draft and interpret legislation, anticipate consequences and explain in ways everyone can understand.

A curriculum designer and former substitute teacher, Laurene recognizes links between education and good jobs and will work for Idahoans who find opportunities lacking. Improving Idaho’s status from near last in education, health care and wages requires a new approach. Partisan imbalance contributes to stagnation and frustration with government. Laurene’s congeniality and experience with mediation, conflict resolution, negotiation, and organizational development will bring new ideas and collaborative problem-solving to Idaho’s Legislature.

Laurene has worked in project management and government finance law, so she advocates practical ways to pay for projects like roads and bridges, to improve safety and efficiency. With her late husband John Crock, founder of Moscow’s outdoor recreation store, Hyperspud, she has worked to protect access to public lands and outdoor recreation. As an entrepreneur, she understands challenges faced by small businesses and will strengthen their voice in the Legislature.

Join us in voting for Laurene Sorensen.
