Football: Anthony Payton joins Spokane Empire coaching staff

Anthony Payton has been named assistant coach for the Spokane Empire, the Indoor Football League team announced Wednesday.

Payton will enter his ninth coaching season, including last season with the Arena Football League’s Portland Steel.

Payton played football at East Mississippi Community College and Kentucky Wesleyan before beginning his pro career with the Dayton Skyhawks of the previous IFL.
