S-R promoting pot

If it were not such a serious matter, the obvious hypocrisy it exposes would be hilarious. An Associated Press story in the Oct. 31 issue of this paper alerts us to the fact that “2 billion kids (in the world) breathe toxic air.” We are warned that “serious health effects including damage to their lungs, brain and other organs” can be the result.

So the Spokesman-Review, on Friday, Oct. 28, puts out the Spokannabist, a publication which, in a very true sense, is little more than a promotion for the smoking and ingesting of “recreational” pot. Since pot, likewise, can cause serious health effects, why is this paper and much of leftist society pushing it? Who dictates that one has to be “high” or “under the influence” to enjoy life?

It is disgusting that we are regaled with the fact that legalization brings in tax money and jobs, but we never hear how much it costs in terms of enforcement and ruined lives.

It has been scary enough that as we travel Highway 395, we wonder how many speeding cars are driven by drunks; now we must face the fact that many drivers may be stoned as well.
