PULLMAN – The Washington State Cougars are ranked higher than they have been in over a decade, rising to No. 20 in the Week 12 Associated Press Top 25 after beating California 56-21 on Saturday.
WSU (8-2, 7-0) Pac-12 is also ranked No. 20 in the Coaches Poll. The AP last ranked the Cougars higher in 2003, finishing the year at No. 9 after beating Texas in the Holiday Bowl.
The Cougars will have a chance to finish the season ranked much higher. WSU’s next two opponents are No. 12 Colorado and No. 7 Washington, which fell three spots in the rankings after suffering its first loss of the season to now-No. 15 USC.
Utah rose to No. 11 after its 49-26 win over Arizona State.
