The Dirt: More retail and restaurants to fill new building in Kendall Yards

Another commercial building will rise on the south side of Summit Parkway in Kendall Yards. It’s designed to have two restaurants and other retail spaces and expected to open in summer 2017.

Greenstone affiliate North Gorge Commercial Partners LLC plans to start within two weeks on the $2.2 million project for the Kendall Yards Bluff Building, 1323 W. Summit Parkway.

The nearly 5,000-square-foot building will sit between Spa Paradiso and Nectar Wine & Beer.

Kilgore Construction Inc., of Colbert, is the contractor.

Other current Kendall Yards projects include a medical building, a grocery store and 140 new apartments.

CdA Hastings site

to get EntertainMart

Vintage Stock Inc., a Joplin, Missouri-based company, plans to open an EntertainMart store in the now-shuttered Coeur d’Alene Hastings store.

In a hiring ad, the company says EntertainMart will be located at 101 Best Ave. The store buys and sells movies, music, video games and collectibles, such as comics, toys and cards.

Vintage Stock, under different store names, operates 57 outlets across 10 states.

Umpqua Bank opens downtown branch

Umpqua Bank plans to open its new downtown Spokane branch on Monday.

The remodeled space, 707 W. Main Ave., previously held Bergman Luggage. Umpqua moved its downtown branch there from the former Sterling Bank building on Wall Street.

The $700,000 project on Main created the branch, public spaces, conference rooms and a coffee bar.

Grabbagreen opening cafe in CdA

Grabbagreen, a new Coeur d’Alene eatery, is scheduled to open Sunday.

The 3,400-square-foot restaurant, 405 W. Neider Ave., also has a community room for fitness and health events. It’s one of two franchise sites for the region, with another set for Spokane next year.

Grabbagreen, an Arizona-based restaurant chain, offers organic and whole food items, hormone- and antibiotic-free meats, fresh juice and smoothies.

Cellphone stores open in Spokane

Two cellphone companies recently leased spaces at two locations.

Alliance Tel Washington LLC, operating as a Metro PCS dealer, will occupy space at 6412 N. Nevada St. Colin Conway, of Kiemle & Hagood, and Stephen Pohl, of NAI Black, were the brokers.

T-Mobile has leased space at 4808 E. Sprague Ave. Jim Quigley and Tim Kestell, both of Kiemle & Hagood, handled the transaction.
