WSU’s Taylor Mims honored for defensive play in volleyball
Mon., Nov. 14, 2016
Washington State sophomore Taylor Mims was named the defensive player of the week in volleyball by the Pacific-12 Conference on Monday.
Mims totaled 17 blocks and 17 kills to help the Cougars sweep Arizona State and No. 25 Arizona last weekend in Pullman.
The victories marked the first time WSU has beaten the Arizona schools at home and on the road in the same season.
Mimis is averaging 1.52 blocks per game, which is second best on her team, second best in the Pac-12 and seventh best in the nation.
