Education Notebook: STCU awards grants to teachers

Twelve Spokane Public Schools teachers have received $250 classroom grants from STCU.

Grant recipients are Cory Ulrich (Glover Middle School), Laurie Graham and Gregory Joireman (Shadle Park High School), Adelle McKee (Bemiss Elementary), Laura Squires (Indian Trail Elementary), Chelsea Pepper (Adams Elementary), Tammy Knapp (Wilson Elementary), Theresa Harshman (North Central High School), Kimberly Potter (Logan, Madison and Lidgerwood elementary schools), Karee O’Neill (Arlington Elementary), Tammy Grittner (Linwood Elementary) and Karen Hammock (The Community School).

SVHS’s head secretary honored

Suzi VanDyne, head secretary at Spokane Valley High School, has received the district’s Above and Beyond award.

The award was presented at a recent West Valley school board meeting.
