I-735 to stymie big money

Mike Bell (Sept. 19) is right. Big money is buying our political system and funneling money out of your pocket and into the pockets of special interests. He is right that the first step to right our broken system is a yes vote on I-735.

Candidates who espouse the absurd idea that the Constitution was written to protect the rights of corporations (corporations didn’t even exist at that time) don’t deserve your vote and won’t represent you once in office. Fair elections should be the litmus test of a government conceived of as “of, by, and for” the people.

I urge you to vote for I-735 and for those candidates willing to go on the record in support of this important initiative. The people deserve to know where candidates and elected officials stand. Vote to cut off the flow of big money corrupting government; vote yes on I-735.
