Jonah Snyder scored to get Whitworth even in the 34th minute and Drew Williams provided the game-winner in the 78th as the Pirates (6-3-1, 4-1-1) took a 2-1 victory over George Fox (1-9-1, 1-5-0) on Sunday in Spokane.
Pirates goaltender Tony Watters made his first start of the season and made three saves.
Whitworth outshot George Fox 28-6 with 10 shots on goal.
Snyder scored on a header off a cross from Rylan Berriman while Williams scored from 10 yards out off a through ball from Kyle Morris.
There were five yellow cards issued, four to the Bruins, including two to Victor Garcia, which left George Fox a man down at the 57th minute.
