GSL roundup: G-Prep cruises to fourth straight win

The Gonzaga Prep football team continues its upward climb.

Winning for a fourth straight time after an 0-2 start, the Bullpups clobbered the visiting Mt. Spokane Wildcats 42-17 in a Greater Spokane League crossover game Friday.

Running back Kasey Anthony scored on runs of 44 and 11 yards and caught a touchdown pass for 66 yards.

G-Prep opened a 35-3 lead by halftime.

The Bullpups piled up 277 yards on 35 carries. Anthony gain 75 yards, and Connor Halinan had 93 to go with TD runs of 35 and 21 yards.

Mt. Spokane dropped to 1-5.

Mead 56, Rogers 24: Many hands contributed to the Panthers’ win at Albi Stadium in the GSL crossover game.

Running back EJ Bade returned from missing a game because of an ejection. He rushed for 106 yards on nine carries.

Starting quarterback Payton Loucks completed 18 of 23 for 218 yards. He gave way to sophomore Michael Chan, who was 10 of 13 for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Mead (4-2) led 42-10 at halftime.

Rogers’ Eric McKay had 160 yards rushing and 149 yards passing. The Pirates fell to 0-6.

Lewis and Clark 17, Shadle Park 7: The Tigers (3-3) limited the Highlanders (3-3) to 226 yards total offense in the GSL crossover at Albi Stadium.

The Tigers led 10-7 at halftime but added a 65-yard TD run from Cameron Duncan in the third quarter. Duncan finished with 122 yards.
