EWU’s Gage Gubrud named Big Sky player of week

Eastern Washington quarterback Gage Gubrud is the Big Sky Conference offensive player of the week following his performance in the Eagles’ 49-31 win Saturday over Northern Colorado.

Gubrud continued his run of strong performances, posting the fourth-most yards of total offense in school history against UNC.

Gubrud finished with 514 yards of total offense, which included a 435-yard passing performance, with five touchdowns, and a team-leading 79 yards on the ground. Four of the quarterback’s touchdown passes were to Shaq Hill.

Northern Arizona defensive end Siupeli Anau was named defensive player of the week and Southern Utah punter Tate Lewis was the special teams honoree.
