Prep roundup: East Valley girls soccer stays undefeated in GNL play

Micaela Verdal scored two goals in the first ten minutes and East Valley (9-0) beat Pullman (0-10) 4-0 to remain undefeated in Great Northern League play.

Charity Yount and Chloe Gellhaus added second-half goals for the Knights.

Kari Bromley recorded for her sixth straight shutout.

Clarkston 2, Cheney 0: Makinzie Packwood and Maddie Hoffman found the back of the net early in the second half to give visiting Clarkston (7-4) a 2-0 win over Cheney (6-4).

Goalkeeper Katelyn Bittle made five saves in the shutout.

Clarkston hosts East Valley on Tuesday.

Volleyball

Sydney Frogge led East Valley with 30 assists and the Knights (4-5) swept visiting Pullman (6-4) 26-24, 25-23, 25-17 in Great Northern League play.

Cheney sweeps Clarkston: Peyton Stark had 33 assists and Cheney (9-1) swept visiting Clarkston (1-9) 25-10, 25-15, 25-21.

Northeast 2B

Carmen Gfeller had 11 kills and visiting Colfax (8-0) topped Reardan (2-6) 25-13, 25-20, 25-10.

Wilbur-Creston tops NWC: Jesse Reed had 23 kills, Amber Starzman added 24 digs and Wilbur-Creston (8-0) beat visiting Northwest Christian (6-3) in four sets 25-14, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Northeast 1B

Almira/Coulee-Hartline (7-0) stayed undefeated in league play, beating Selkirk (6-1) in four sets (25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 25-20) and sweeping Cusick (1-6) 25-15, 25-18, 25-14, with both wins coming on the road.

Berlin Hunt had 11 kills with three aces in the Selkirk match.

Odessa-Harrington wins twice: Odessa-Harrington (3-1) picked up a pair of road wins as well, knocking off Selkirk in five sets 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 16-25, 15-13 and sweeping Cusick 25-16, 25-10, 25-23.

Idaho

Madelynn Skinner had 13 kills and visiting Lewiston (2-4) edged Coeur d’Alene (4-2) in five sets 21-25, 25-23, 25-16, 20-25, 15-13.

Ali Williams had 28 kills for the Vikings.

Lake City sweeps Post Falls: Ashley Kaufman had 10 kills, Klaire Mitchell added 32 assists and Lake City (6-0) swept visiting Post Falls (0-6) 25-21, 26-24, 25-17.
