Biviano has skills needed

I was shocked hearing Shelley O’Quinn blame The Spokesman for articles concerning the turmoil our city has had recently. The list is dramatic: mayoral recalls, firings and resignations, lawsuits, police shootings, crime, homelessness, mental health and criminal justice issues. As I listened to the Oct. 3 debate hosted by KSPS, my reaction was strong and immediate. Shelley wants to stifle the press, to prevent the truth from being told.

That is why I am supporting Andrew Biviano. Andrew sees the issues, and offers positive solutions, not blame. Andrew stands for open government. He has a clear vision that will make our community safer, healthier and stronger. He knows that government’s job is to be stewards of our collective resources, to put people first. To be accountable to we, the citizens.

Andrew’s broad experience in mental health, as a prosecutor, attorney and law professor makes him very well qualified. His opponent showed us her true colors Monday night. She won’t stand up for what is right, for truth, for justice. She won’t stand with our sheriff against political extremism, and frankly does not have the skills, experience or temperament to overcome the big challenges we face.
