Prep roundup: Mead volleyball stays perfect in Greater Spokane League play
Sarah Absalonson had 22 assists and Mead (7-0) stayed perfect in Greater Spokane League action with a sweep of visiting Shadle Park (5-3) 25-16, 25-14, 25-19 on Tuesday.
Madison Lee added nine kills and 20 digs for the Panthers.
Mead faces Ferris on Thursday.
Central Valley 3, Mt. Spokane 2: Paige Woolan and Sydney Johnson both had 18 kills and Central Valley (6-1) held off visiting Mt. Spokane (4-3) 25-17, 24-26, 29-27, 21-25, 18-16.
Sami Smith stepped up to lead Central Valley with three aces and 23 digs.
Miahna Waters led Mt. Spokane with 31 kills, two aces, and 27 digs.
Gonzaga Prep 3, Ferris 1: Emily Zink nailed 21 kills, Maddie West had 29 assists and Gonzaga Prep (6-1) topped visiting Ferris (3-5) 24-26, 25-9, 25-12, 25-17.
Katelyn Brock led Ferris with 22 assists and two aces.
University 3, North Central 0: Rachael Schlect had 11 kills, Alaina Chester added 12 digs and six service aces to help visiting University (4-3) top North Central (0-9) 25-8, 25-12, 25-17.
Rogers 3, Lewis and Clark 0: Svetlana Yuryez had 33 digs, Keelie Kilgore added four blocks and Rogers (1-6) won its first league match of the season, topping Lewis and Clark (1-6) at home 25-14, 25-21, 25-13.

Cheney 3, West Valley 1: Rylie Pease had 18 kills and Peyton Stark had 32 assists to help league-leading Cheney (10-1) beat host West Valley (5-6) 25-16, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21.

Freeman 3, Newport 0: Anna Gallagher had 10 kills, Ailsa Hansen added six service aces and visiting Freeman (12-1) swept Newport (6-7) 25-12, 25-11, 25-12.
Deer Park 3, Riverside 0: Tina Carlson had 16 assists, Mara Allen added five service aces and visiting Deer Park (9-4) topped Riverside (2-11) 25-7, 25-2, 25-9.
Lakeside 3, Colville 0: Olivia Mikkelsen had 25 assists with 14 digs and Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) (12-1) cruised past visiting Colville (7-6) 25-9, 25-11, 25-12.
Chewelah 3, Medical Lake 0: Elizabeth Chalmers had 21 assists, Krislyn Koler added five service aces and Chewelah (4-9) swept visiting Medical Lake (0-13) 25-14, 25-20, 25-9.

5A Region I playoffs: Lake City (7-0) advanced to state, beating visiting Lewiston (2-5) 25-22, 25-19, 25-18.
In the loser-out match, Post Falls (1-6) knocked out host Coeur d’Alene (4-3).
Post Falls travels to Lewiston on Thursday in a loser-out match, with the winner to play for a state berth in a loser-out match against the District III fifth place team on Saturday in Grangeville, Idaho.
3A District I playoffs: Jayden Bennett had nine digs and Bonners Ferry (5-2) swept Priest River (2-4) 25-23, 25-22, 28-26 in a 3A District I playoff match at Timberlake.
On Thursday, Bonners Ferry faces Intermountain League champion Timberlake (7-0) – which swept Coeur d’Alene Charter (0-5) – with the winner advancing to state. Priest River plays CdA Charter in a loser-out match.
Girls soccer
Clarkston 3, East Valley 2: Makinzie Packwood had two goals and host Clarkston (9-4, 8-4) upset Great Northern League-leading East Valley (10-3, 9-1) 3-2.
East Valley wrapped up the league title last week but saw second-place Clarkston score three times in the first half, then hang on.
Shannon Frucci and Kelsy Ross had second-half goals for the Knights.
West Valley 2, Cheney 1: Abby McConnell scored two goals and West Valley (4-8, 4-6) beat visiting Cheney (10-5, 6-5) 2-1.
McConnell scored in the 25th and 65th minute.
