Boise State edges BYU 28-27

BOISE – Jeremy McNichols scored on a 4-yard run with 10:37 remaining and No. 14 Boise State went on to defeat Brigham Young 28-27 in a nonconference football game on Thursday night.

McNichols had 140 yards rushing and 109 yards receiving for the Broncos. Brett Rypien passed for 442 yards and three touchdowns for the Broncos (7-0).

BYU (4-4) crossed midfield on its final possession but a 44-yard field goal attempt on a second-down play was blocked. BYU recovered behind the line of scrimmage and was able to run two more plays but two passes fell incomplete.
