Arson burns vacant Spokane Valley home

A fire in a vacant house Saturday in Spokane Valley appears to have been intentionally set.

The fire at 1214 N. Bannen Road was called in just after 12:30 p.m. The home was vacant and the doors and windows were boarded up, according to a Spokane Valley Fire Department news release.

The fire was in the attic when crews arrived and flames could be seen burning through the roof. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to neighboring homes, the release said.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call (800) 55-ARSON.
