Cougars-SunDevils players of the game

Game ball

Robert Taylor scored WSU’s first kick return touchdown since 2003 and the Cougars’ first touchdown of the game. He also made four tackles on defense, broke up a pass and did not give up many big plays from his free safety position.

Offensive player of the game

Luke Falk was under constant duress from ASU’s blitz-heavy defense and was sacked seven times. Still the quarterback completed 42 of 53 passes for 398 yards and three touchdowns, including a gorgeous 52-yard bomb to Gabe Marks in the fourth quarter.

Defensive player of the game

Shalom Luani sacked Manny Wilkins on ASU’s second offensive drive and the quarterback did not return to the game. Luani was integral to WSU’s largely effective run defense against the Sun Devils’ potent rushing attack.
