North Central sweeps 3A Bi-District cross country

North Central swept the boys and girls 3A Bi-District team and individual cross country championships held at Mead High School on Saturday.

Jacob Christner won the boys’ title with a time of 15:54, edging Mount Spokane’s Hayden Dressel. North Central placed five runners in the top 10 and topped runner-up Kamiakin. Mt. Spokane finished fourth, Shadle Park in fifth and Rogers in seventh.

North Central freshman twins Erinn and Mia Hill finished first and second, respectively, on the girls’ side at 18:49 and 18:59. Mt. Spokane’s Shawnee Konrad came in third.

NC topped Kamiakin, with Mt. Spokane in third and Shadle Park in sixth.

The top two boys and girls teams, and top 14 individuals, advance to a regional meet in Seattle next Thursday.

District 7 1B/2B

Asotin won both the girls and boys team championships, with Thomas Weakland leading the way by winning the boys’ individual title at 15:52.

Madison Ward of St George’s won her second straight championship, and third out of her four years, in 19:10.

All teams and varsity individuals advance to the Regional Dist 7/Dist 9 Championship/State Qualifier Meet on Friday at Colfax Golf Course.
