Whitworth men rally for soccer victory

Moi Diaz scored in the 53rd minute to break a tie and send Whitworth (10-3-2, 8-1-2 Northwest) to a 2-1 win over Puget Sound (8-5-2, 5-4-2) in Spokane on Sunday.

Alfredo Ornelas had Whitworth’s other goal, scoring in the ninth minute. Timmy Costa made seven saves and preserved the Pirates’ victory with a save on a penalty kick in the 64th minute.
