Women’s soccer: Idaho clinches at least share of title; EWU sets school record in 6-1 win

Emma Eddy scored two goals and Idaho blanked Southern Utah 4-0 on Sunday in Moscow, Idaho, to clinch at least a share of its second straight Big Sky Conference soccer championship.

Eddy scored goals in each half with Myah Merino and Morgan Crosby later adding goals. Torell Stewart made five saves for her fourth shutout of the season.

The Vandals (9-4-4, 6-1-2) have 20 points, three points ahead of second-place Eastern Washington and Sacramento State, with one regular-season match left at home against Idaho State on Friday. The Vandals won the title outright last year.

Southern Idaho fell to 3-11-2, 2-6-1.

Chloe Williams scored two goals and assisted on Delaney Romero’s tiebreaker, and Eastern Washington (11-3-3, 5-2-2 Big Sky) set a program record for goals in a 6-1 victory over host North Dakota (2-13-2, 1-8-0) in Grand Forks.

Romero’s fourth goal of the year made it 2-1 in the 21st minute. Jenny Chavez, Devan Talley and Brooke Dunbar also scored for the Eagles.

The Eagles host Montana in their regular-season finale on Friday.

Kelly Bieraugel scored at 90:57 to cap a three-goal surge in the final 11 minutes of the match and lift Gonzaga (6-7-2, 2-4-0 West Coast) to a 4-3 overtime win over Pacific (1-12-1, 1-5-0) in Spokane in the Bulldogs’ home finale.

With Gonzaga trailing 3-1, Sydney Anderson scored in the 81st minute before Aliyah Miller scored her second goal of the match, at 89:18, to tie.

The game-winner came after Karley Baggerly sent the ball across the box to Bieraugel who kicked it to the far post.

No. 12 UCLA (12-3-1, 6-1-1 Pac-12) scored just 41 seconds after Alysha Overland had tied the game for Washington State (6-9-1, 1-7-0) in the 77th minute as the Cougars fell 2-1 in Los Angeles.

A goal in the 49th minute lifted No. 5 USC (13-3-0, 7-1-0 Pac-12) to a 1-0 win over Washington (6-10-2 1-7-0) in Los Angeles.

Willamette (8-6-2, 5-5-2 Northwest) scored a 2-1 overtime win over Whitworth (7-9-0, 6-6-0) with a goal at the 97-minute mark.

Arielle Van Peursem tied the match for Whitworth in the 65th minute.
