Fight against bogus claims
Donald Trump claims the election has been rigged and sinister forces are conspiring to steal it. To combat this theft, he is urging his followers to watch the polls. Many followers will likely be armed, hoping to scare people away. That shouldn’t be a factor with Washington state’s mail-in ballot. Those forces he is warning his followers about are Americans who have had enough of Trump’s smears.
Who could possibly believe this voter fraud nonsense? A large number of Republicans. A recent Politico/Morning Consult poll found that 73 percent of Republicans believe the election could be stolen. Fact: An Associated Press analysis of voter fraud found the claims to be without merit. The most telling example was an election fraud analysis study by a Loyola University law professor who only discovered 31 instances of voter impersonation allegations out of 1 billion votes cast between 2000 and 2014.
The only way to fight this aggression is to vote, against Trump. If you feel dispirited by this election season, get over it. Nov. 9 will be here soon. Will the country be intact or will be heading into new and dangerous territory?
