Three cheers for Vestal

Three cheers for our Shawn Vestal. I vote that a Pulitzer Prize goes to him. For surely, his Oct. 12 column on the many reasons to adopt a #nevertrump voter attitude deserves such recognition. His insights, his values and his ability to articulate them, while being entertaining, I found just breathtaking.

Some perceive Trump as a fear-monger, a demagogue, a buffoon, a sexual predator, a pathological liar and slanderer. To me, he encompasses all of those. He would bring down upon each generations in this 21st century such suffering as I can only shutter to imagine.

I’m counting on Hillary to nominate up to three Supreme Court justices who perceive the elements driving this country toward an oligarchy and will correct them. (I’m quite dissatisfied to conclude that our country is no longer the democracy existing when I was born, during World War II. It’s already a plutocracy.)

I see how Russia was briefly a fledgling democracy; now it is an aggressive dictatorship. Putin’s actions show also he is hell-bent to assure that other dictatorships will arise and succeed in capturing power.

Shawn, please shine further perspicacity on Trump’s threats surrounding global warming.
