Vietnam vet supports Clinton

As a Vietnam veteran, I still feel the disrespect I endured after my return from Vietnam. Draft-dodging Donald Trump epitomizes this disrespect when he brags that the biggest danger he overcame during the Vietnam War was his avoidance of a venereal disease.

He brings this disrespect into the present day when he mocks and disparages Vietnam POWs; when he compares his sacrifices as a businessman to those of a Gold Star family; when he shouts that he will tell the military to commit war crimes, like waterboarding and carpet bombing and worse.

I will enthusiastically cast my vote for Hillary Clinton for commander-in-chief. She has proudly supported military families throughout her career, but especially her time in the Senate, where she worked to increase the survivor benefits for military families from $12,000 to $100,000; teamed up with Republicans to expand health care for National Guard members and reservists; authored a new G.I. Bill of Rights to help veterans adjust and re-enter the workforce after deployment; fought to expand retirement pay and disability compensation for disabled veterans; and expanded the Family and Medical Leave Act to families of wounded service members.
