Women’s soccer: Neal’s second-half goal gets WSU draw with Oregon

Amy Neal capped a flurry of shots on the Oregon goal with the equalizer in the 73rd minute to give Washington State a 1-1 women’s soccer tie Sunday in Pullman.

The Cougars (7-9-2, 2-7-1 Pac-12) had a 25-7 advantage in shots against the Ducks (8-9-2, 2-7-1) but it was Oregon who took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute.

Washington State concludes its season Thursday when it hosts Washington at 7 p.m.

Gonzaga (6-9-2, 2-6-0 West Coast) outshot San Francisco by a margin of 11 shots but it was the host Dons (7-11-0, 3-5-0) who took a 2-1 victory.

The Dons led 2-0 when Karley Baggerly picked up her sixth goal of the season in the 88th minute.

Gonzaga finishes its season at No. 5 BYU on Saturday.

Oregon State (7-10-2, 2-8-0 Pac-12) collected a 1-0 win over Washington (7-11-1, 2-8-0) with a goal in the 61st minute in Seattle.

McKenzie Hemp scored early and Megan McCart late to give Whitworth (9-9, 8-6 Northwest) a 2-0 win over George Fox (3-11-3, 3-8-2) in Spokane.

Sienna Tanner made four saves for Whitworth, which has two matches remaining.
